About Us

The Jharkhand State Climate Change Centre (JSCCC) serves as the nodal agency for coordinating and facilitating climate change-related initiatives across the state. Established under the Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Jharkhand, and supported by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, under the National Mission on Strategic Knowledge for Climate Change (NMSKCC), the Centre is located in the office of the Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest CAMPA-cum-State Nodal Officer (SNO), Climate Change, Jharkhand, Ranchi.

JSCCC as the nodal entity supports the implementation and periodic revision of the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC). It acts as a bridge between scientific research, policy formulation, and community-level action ensuring that climate initiatives and policy are data-driven, inclusive, and aligned with development goals.

A consolidated report on District Climate Projections, Mapping Jharkhand's Climate Vulnerability-A District & Block Level Assessment and progress under NMSKCC trainings and NAFCC initiatives was released on 21 January 2025. The report outlines emerging climate risks at the district level and highlights priority areas for adaptation. It also showcased training capacity-building efforts and climate-resilience awareness generation under NMSKCC. Officials stated that the findings will help strengthen evidence-based planning and guide future climate-action pathways.
