Government of Jharkhand
Comprehensive Climate Information System for Jharkhand
The Jharkhand State Climate Change Cell (JSCCC) is building an integrated climate data system to support informed, cross-sectoral decision-making at the state level.
JSCCC collects, compiles and analyzes climate-related data alongside socio-economic, ecological, hydrological and land use indicators. Data sources include scientific institutions, government departments and remote sensing technologies, covering both primary and secondary observations.
District-wise climate profiles and risk indicators providing localized climate intelligence for targeted interventions.
Sectoral vulnerability data across multiple domains including agriculture, health, water, energy, and urban planning.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories tracking state-wide carbon footprint and mitigation progress.
Land use and land cover change datasets monitoring environmental transformations and urban expansion patterns.
Soil and watershed health assessments ensuring sustainable water resource management and ecosystem conservation.
Traditional knowledge and locally grounded practices documenting indigenous climate adaptation strategies.
JSCCC is committed to ensuring that climate data is accessible, compatible and policy-relevant, in full alignment with SAPCC, national climate frameworks and global standards such as those of the IPCC, UNFCCC and leading climate data platforms.
Through a data-driven approach, the Centre strengthens transparency, inter-departmental coordination and long-term climate resilience across Jharkhand empowering policy makers, researchers, institutions and communities to act with clarity and purpose.
