Government of Jharkhand
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, has advised all states to revise their respective State Action Plans on Climate Change (SAPCCs) in alignment with India's commitments under the UNFCCC Paris Agreement and its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and other priorities of government.
As the nodal agency, JSCCC is responsible for supporting both the implementation and periodic revision of the SAPCC in the state.
To guide this process, MoEF&CC has issued a Common Framework for the Revision of SAPCCs to all states. In accordance with this framework, a State Level Steering Committee (SLSC) has been re-constituted in Jharkhand and accordingly to assist the SLSC a core group was re-constituted comprising representatives from key line departments:
Provided an overview of the existing SAPCC and outlined the objectives of the revision
Reviewed the revised Jharkhand State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC)
Committee approved the revised Jharkhand State Action Plan on Climate Change
The revised Jharkhand SAPCC is expected to be finalized and published in 2025.
